Director, Data Analytics & Finance

Keap has an immediate need for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Finance and Analytics leader. The Director of Data Analytics & Finance is a leadership position responsible for operating the financial planning AND analysis process alongside the design, build, and deployment of Analytics solutions. This position is highly visible to the enterprise!  You will work closely with stakeholders to gain a full understanding of their needs. You will also be a thought leader, influencing others to buy-in and support strategies, processes, and standards.

The Director of Data Analytics & Finance leads Field FP&A, Corporate FP&A and an Analytics Team made up of Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists to architect and build data environments, inform business processes and predict outcomes. Experience leading in both data analytics and finance is required. 

The Work

  • Effectively lead the finance and analytics team to deliver world-class solutions while collaborating with stakeholders throughout the business. You will manage matrixed relationships and co-managed teams, maintain the proper balance between business and IT to provide analytics services appropriate to the needs and expertise of various data consumers and explorers.
  • Build systems and processes enabling data analysts, explorers and scientists from diverse business functions to freely find and publish insights.  At the same time, develop an enterprise approach enabling data consumers to confidently consume data and insights with appropriate definitions and controls.
  • Deliver timely, accurate, relevant and proactive insights that compel action and deliver exponential growth with scale through data culture, collaborative partnership, process automation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead financial analysis and planning efforts across monthly, quarterly and annual cadence
  • Innovate and improve insights and financial analysis for business leaders
  • Assist with improving models for customer growth and retention
  • Assist with strategies to improve expansion revenue
  • Own and deliver customer churn/retention KPI reporting and forecasting
  • Leverage financial analysis and business intelligence to develop customer retention insights
  • Analyze and understand the drivers of customer success and customer churn
  • Support continued refinement of core business metrics, such as Cost of acquisition, cost to retain, cost of expansion, cohort unit economics (LTV, Payback) by channel
  • Provide deep dive analysis on customer cohorts and usage
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting
  • Creation of executive-level reports

Vision and strategy

  • Thought leadership to create, communicate and influence others to buy into and support the strategic vision for Keap analytic platforms
  • Develop and support enterprise-wide strategies, processes, and standards for business intelligence, data discovery and reporting; communicate standards to drive consistency and integration of corporate efforts

Business relationship management

  • Interact with and make recommendations to cross-functional executive leadership
  • Work with key users and peer teams to develop and define key business questions; assist business users in using analytic platforms
  • Promote usage and acceptance of the analytic tools and platforms within the user community; expand and improve the training and education of the user community


  • Lead multiple initiatives for analytic platforms including Architecture, Design, and Delivery for operational reporting, ad-hoc analytics, and predictive analytics

Team leadership

  • Build analytic platform team to improve technical, functional and soft skills
  • Create and lead cross-functional Data Governance Committee
  • Provide coaching and mentoring


  • Ensure the continued success of production systems by providing ongoing application support, issue investigation and resolution
  • Lead the continued upgrading of platforms for increased capability and stability

Experience/Skill Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, IS, Analytics or related field
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience leading Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse AND "Big Data" solutions AND 7-10+ years of FP&A experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years leading at a technology company (SaaS experience highly preferred) 
  • Established history of effective financial reporting with timely and measurable results
  • Proficiency in Data Engineering, Data Analysis and Data Science leveraging large sets of data and a working knowledge of statistics
  • Strong analytical skills with a foundation in statistical techniques (e.g. mix modeling and econometrics projects, supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms)
  • Experience with Big Query cloud platform highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of R/SAS and/or Python. High proficiency with Excel (Lookup functions, pivot tables, Solver). SQL experience is a must.
  • Strategic innovator that creates effective solutions to operational challenges
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, SQL, Anaplan, Looker or other financial tools
  • Highly analytical and a strong, effective communicator
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
