The Role

As a Data Scientist at Keap, you will own the entire data science pipeline for each of your projects. This includes defining the business problem, gathering and preparing relevant data, feature engineering, modeling, productization, monitoring model performance and presenting solutions to key stakeholders. You will also work with the analytics team to scale your knowledge, perform ad-hoc statistical analysis, and extract actionable insights to solve business problems.


  1. Contribute heavily to impactful company-wide projects and solutions.
  2. Improve data science processes and throughput by performing and /or automating data sourcing, cleaning, modeling and output analysis.
  3. Answer business questions with statistical analysis using SQL and Python

Daily Execution Excellence

  • Design, construct, and maintain highly scalable data science tools including:
    • Use SQL to pull necessary modeling data, including necessary cleaning and pre-processing
    • Exploring data to find interesting trends, actionable insights, and make recommendations
    • Derive new features from existing data to improve model accuracy and stability
    • Perform ad-hoc statistical analysis and extract actionable insights for analytics stakeholders
    • Develop models for inference and prediction - owning the entire process from data sourcing, to model selection and validation.Productize models, and monitor model performance over time
  • Find new opportunities for analytics and data science to provide value to stakeholders
  • Work with the analytics team to build new analysis tools and metrics for measuring Keap as a business
  • Interface with internal data customers to gather requirements

Expertise and Qualifications:

  • Experience with machine learning, data mining, statistical analysis
  • Strong analytical skills, and ability to quickly derive interesting correlations and insights
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (we use Google Cloud Platform (GCP)) and experience developing data science applications on the cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of web frameworks to deploy data science applications (Flask)
  • Experience with a modern data warehouse technology (we use Google BigQuery) and relevant database best practices
  • Fluency in SQL and Python, as well as a deep understanding of statistical analysis, experiment design, and common pitfalls of data analysis
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and visualization tools (Looker) strongly preferred
  • Experience with data engineering tools for productizing models (Apache Airflow, Docker, Google Kubernetes Engine, Spark) strongly preferred
  • A self-starter attitude with an enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, start-up environment.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a fun yet professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Usual days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m, with extended hours seldom required to achieve a deadline.
