The Role

As a Business Development Manager, you are strategic and collaborative; you set vision and drive results. You hunt and you prospect. You are known for smashing your goals! You are a super communicator and can successfully build rapport, relating to all kinds of people all over the world! You can land large strategic partnerships for sales, marketing and product integration. 

The Work

  1. Deliver and Exceed Quota/Goals  (MRR, New Customer App Sales, and Net Customer Growth)
  2. Co-Create Annual Growth plans by partner type and lead collaborative initiatives with other departments to drive growth 
  3. Hunt and Prospect for new strategic partnerships, navigate large Fortune 500 type companies, work at the C - Level, get beyond the gatekeeper to find decision makers 
  4. Provide Account management, be the SPOC as the engagement kicks off, negotiate the contract and bring the right people together to work out deal terms, product needs and launch plans. 

Daily Execution Excellence

To achieve your objectives, you will:

  • Prospect, work network and channels, navigate large organizations to find contacts and decision makers
  • Present and propose partnership opportunities
  • Work the sales engagement pipeline from top to bottom, drive accounts over the goal line that deliver unit and MRR sales growth for the company
  • Conduct business planning with partner: drive and assist with marketing, revenue growth, new customer growth 
  • Work across partners on the business model, entirety of account management, product offerings, go-to-market strategy
  • Plan and execute marketing and sales strategies with partners: lead generation, content execution and messaging
  • Work cross functionally with peers in marketing, product, support etc. to deliver for the account needs.  Be a key member of the account and partnership team

Metrics for Success

A successful Business Development Manager feels comfortable using these metrics as a measure of their success:

  • New business accounts/logos landed
  • New business units and revenue (New Customers/AMRR)
  • Revenue Growth (Total MRR)
  • Average Selling Price within Accounts (Unit Average / ASP)
  • Partner Net Promoter Score
  • Account level Product Influence / Advocacy / development

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of consultative sales experience, Saas, Technology sales and account management strongly preferred
  • An excellent track record of prospecting, hunting and landing new business. As well as exceeding quota.
  • Experience closing complex sales cycles in a consultative manner, including C Level executive engagements  and cold calling skills
  • Ability to build strong Partner (customer) relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, build networks, and gain trust of others through strategic business authenticity
  • Relates comfortably with diverse groups of people and can adapt in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
  • Action-oriented and consistent in driving results, even under complex circumstances
  • Actively seeks opportunities for improvement, internally and externally
  • Experience selling CRM software and knowledge of CRM technologies/methodologies, sales & marketing automation preferred
  • Knowledge of Keap Application ideal but not required
  • An “owner mentality”- you will find innovative and creative ways to achieve ambitious goals
  • Need to be able to navigate within an acceptable degree of ambiguity and change
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a book of clients and progress them through bottom of funnel activities
  • Experience in Territory Management of multiple partners/accounts
