The Role

We are looking for a skilled Manager, Analytics & Data Science who can make an immediate impact on our Analytics team. We have a thriving analysts team with skills that span from data strategy to statistical analysis to complex SQL development. We are looking for a Manager to build a strategic muscle into the team, surface up crucial analysis throughout the company, and operate as a high-level lead analyst in their own right. The core needs are:

Objectives 

  1. Manage a group of high-impact data analysts and take them to the next level in terms of strategic thinking and statistical ability. 
  2. Provide statistical analysis on business questions using tools like Python and R
  3. Most importantly -- work as a peer with business stakeholders and help them answer meaningful business questions using data

Daily Execution Excellence

  • Manage a team of data analysts and data scientists that partner to deliver proactive insights to the organization
  • Coach up the team into a highly-efficient group of strategic data consultants
  • Lead the utilization of machine learning (classification, forecasting, and clustering applications) and advanced quantitative methods (general linear models, two-sample testing, mathematical modeling) to uncover deep insights
  • Lead the development of company-wide OKRs (Objectives and key Results) and build dashboards to track business questions and metrics across the company
  • Foster proactive data explanation to find actionable insights and make recommendations
  • Provide direct analytical support to help executives prioritize, execute, and analyze initiatives
  • Develop and enforce company best practices around AB testing and experimentation

Expertise and Qualifications:

  • Fluency in SQL and Python, as well as a deep understanding of statistical analysis, experiment design, and common pitfalls of data analysis. 
  • Experience with modern scalable data architecture such as the following:
    • Source Systems: Salesforce, Marketo, NetSuite, etc.
    • ETL: Fivetran, Airflow, etc.
    • Warehouse: BigQuery, Snowflake, etc 
    • Data Transformation: DBT
    • Data Visualization: Looker 
  • 3+ years of experience doing quantitative analysis for a technology company preferably in a Business Intelligence, Marketing Analytics, Customer Success Analytics or Data Science team
  • Degree in Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields
  • Self-starter: You drive projects with minimal guidance and focus on high impact work
  • Excellent communicator: You effectively synthesize, visualize, and communicate your ideas to others
  • Critical thinker: You are thoughtful, self-aware, and use available evidence to make decisions
  • Work effectively with teammates and win credibility quickly

  • Contribute positively to team dynamics
  • Manage change within immediate team and support larger change efforts
  • Identify barriers to effective collaboration and escalate issues if unable to resolve

**This is NOT a remote position and will be required to work in the office (post-Covid) at our Chandler, Arizona location.
