The Role
As a member of the Marketing Web Development team, you will team closely with fellow web developers, strategists and web analysts to develop, optimize and deliver an optimal web experience for our customers, partners and prospective customers. We’re looking for someone who is ready to dive right in and develop intuitive user experiences that convert. Having experience supporting e-commerce, personalization, tagging and other marketing data integration will be beneficial in this role. The Work
- Website Monetization: Enhancing free trial and ecommerce functionality within the website.
- Customer Journey Innovation: Driving new development enhancements to deliver a smoother online experience for our customers, partners and prospects.
- Front-end and back-end website support: Delivering development updates needed to support new creative, content, platform updates and data integration.
Daily Execution Excellence
- Develop with a mobile first mentality
- Willing and able to take ownership of an existing codebase
- Develop clean, semantic markup with current best practices utilizing HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript/TypeScript libraries
- Implement design layouts for various platforms and browsers
- Support daily website updates needed in the front-end and back-end of the website
- Deliver high quality interfaces
- Support data and technology integration for ecommerce, personalization and marketing automation
- Assist in tagging governance
- Passionate about optimizing websites for increased opt-ins, better search rankings, and user engagement and retention
- Test for cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device compatibility, and site QA
- Collaborate well with cross-functional marketing teams
- Ensure website projects are completed and properly documented according to specifications and timelines
- Focus on quality and exceeding expected customer expectation levels
- Able to simultaneously support multiple projects of varying complexity
- Eager to learn and keep up with latest development trends
- Open to fail fast to drive new innovation
- Self-motivated, responsible, and dependable
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Be a student as well as a teacher
Expertise
- 4+ years of web development experience
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS latest W3C standards
- Experience developing responsive sites using:
- Vanilla JavaScript when possible without using unneeded libraries
- CSS preprocessors; SCSS (preferred), Stylus or LESS
- CSS responsive frameworks; Tailwind, Bootstrap or Foundation
- PHP | MVC frameworks
- Node.js
- Experience with Laravel (5+ years preferred)
- Experience with TypeScript when working with Vue/React
- Experience with a front-end framework/library (Vue, React, Angular, etc.)
- Experience implementing unit tests for new work
- Experience with REST, AJAX, and API calls to various marketing technologies
- Experience working with Node to create API endpoints
- Experience coding with SEO best practices
- Experience performing code reviews via GitHub pull requests
- Experience in engineering solutions for optimal website performance
- Experience in compliance with cookies (data privacy)
- Understanding of website data measurements and Google Analytics
- Understanding of user experience best practices and optimization testing
- Understanding of an agile workflow/process
- Understanding of working with and developing APIs
- PHP based CMS’s; Craft, Drupal, WordPress, etc.
- Working knowledge of relational/non-relational databases (SQL is a plus)
- Implementing A/B tests with a testing platform (Optimizely, Adobe Test & Target, Google Optimize)
