Front End Web Developer

US-Remote

The Role

As a member of the Marketing Web Development team, you will work closely with fellow web developers, strategists, and web analysts to develop and deliver an optimal web experience for our customers, partners, and prospective customers. We’re looking for someone who is ready to dive right in and develop intuitive user experiences that convert. Having experience supporting e-commerce, personalization, tagging, and other marketing data integration will be beneficial in this role. You will be joining a talented and skilled team that is passionate about empowering entrepreneurs and helping small businesses succeed.

The Work

  • Customer Journey Innovation: Driving new development enhancements to deliver a smoother online experience for our customers, partners, and prospects.
  • Front-end website support: Developing new creative and content updates.
  • Back-end website support: Supporting platform updates and data integration.

Daily Execution Excellence

  • Develop with a mobile-first mentality
  • Develop clean, semantic markup with current best practices utilizing HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript/TypeScript libraries
  • Implement design layouts for various platforms and browsers
  • Support daily front-end updates with some opportunities for back-end development projects
  • Deliver high-quality user experiences
  • Optimize websites for increased opt-ins, better search rankings, and user engagement and retention
  • Test for cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device compatibility, and site QA
  • Collaborate well with cross-functional marketing and engineering teams
  • Ensure website projects are completed on time and properly documented according to specifications and timelines
  • Focus on quality and exceeding customer expectations
  • Support multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously
  • Learn and keep up with latest development trends
  • Drive innovation with willingness to take risks and fail fast
  • Exhibit self-motivation, responsibility, and dependability
  • Demonstrate excellent problem solving and communication skills

Required Experience

  • 2-5 years of web development experience
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS latest W3C standards
  • Development of responsive sites using
    • CSS preprocessors (SCSS preferred)
    • Responsive CSS frameworks; Tailwind, Bootstrap, or Foundation
  • Vanilla JavaScript

Preferred Experience

  • PHP 7-8
  • Laravel or another PHP framework
  • PHP-based CMS: Craft, Drupal, WordPress, etc.
  • SEO best practices
  • GitHub code reviews
  • Understanding of an agile workflow/process

Ideal Experience

  • Using APIs to communicate with various marketing technologies
  • REST or GraphQL
  • Node.js
  • Vue or another front-end framework/library (React, Angular, etc.)
  • TypeScript
  • Unit testing
  • Website performance engineering and testing
  • Understanding of user experience best practices and optimization testing
  • Implementing A/B tests with a testing platform (Optimizely, Adobe Test & Target, Google Optimize)
  • Strong understanding and prior experience ensuring ADA website accessibility compliance and WCAG 2.1 conformance for websites and mobile apps.
