The True Power of Entrepreneurs

I’ve dedicated my professional life to helping entrepreneurs succeed. As I’ve said before, part of the reason I do that is because I’m well acquainted with the struggles and failures of small business—and I hate it. But the other part is that I believe in the power and economic impact of successful entrepreneurs. Abraham Maslow (yes, of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs) couldn’t have said it better:

“…The difference between the great and good societies and the regressing and deteriorating societies is largely in terms of the entrepreneurial opportunity and the number of such people in the society. I think everyone would agree that the most valuable 100 people to bring into a deteriorating society…would be not 100 chemists, or politicians or professors or engineers, but rather 100 entrepreneurs.”

Our No. 1 core value at Infusionsoft is “We empower entrepreneurs.” And we do it because of what Abraham Maslow said. You are the ones making the world a better place, solving problems, serving others, and creating value. My hat’s off to you! Keep doing what you’re doing. Stay committed to your belief and your vision (you have a clearly articulated vision, right?). And for heaven’s sake, don’t be bashful about making a good financial return for your efforts. I run into too many entrepreneurs who are shy about asking for the sale, collecting cash, or making money because they somehow feel sheepish about profiting from their efforts.

You work hard. You solve real problems. You EARN your income. Take the glass ceiling off of your income potential by being proud of what you do and bold about your pricing. Like Maslow said, you’re worth it!
